1) Read below the best poem in the world:
"Ode to Asal's Head"
My head is being funny
Like it will hurt -
But not yet.
Just taunting me
And playing with me...
My head.

2) BFF and I just spend two days working on a script. Some guy called Steve called and I answered BFF's phone and told Steve BFF can't answer the phone cause BFF is too busy banging her head against the wall. BFF will gladly return the call when the bleeding stops.
3) Red and Yellow Turtle Jello (rayTJ) have now recorded a total of 4 songs. All with rayTJ trademarks like crappy recording, unequal instrument sounds, random annoying noise, music interrupted by conversation and argument, and much much more.

ok the title is lame but what the H-E double hockey sticks.
first post since i've been to the 'rain. and really all it's been doing is raining. which is odd cause it's april and it never rains this much. either that or its so sandy outside you can barely see.
i went to the brazil cultural program last night finally. after we showed up on thursday and it rained two minutes in and they postponed it till saturday. it started out really amazing specailly with the capoeira maneuvers and the samba dancing it was awesome. expcept they had some singers which sang way too many slow songs in a langauge no one understood. but it was all good when they had a little batucada play (samba percussion band), it made my day. they sounded so amazing and i knew parts of it cause i use to play samba influenced music. that was so much fun :)
this morning my dad and i went to the formula one race cause he scored some tickets in the grand slam section. that really means/meant nothing to me, just that i got to go. Some brazilian guy in a ferrari called Massa one. the race wasn't too bad. but i really enjoyed the airshow before it and parts of the parade cause they actually had a drum line :)

I thought I should post a mini-review on the concerts I went to the last two weeks. (this is so going to be like Sarah's post cause we did most of it together, sorry sarah!)
Big day out: The idea of it is so much better than the actual events. True you get to see a lot of the bands, but not all of them. There is always a trade off. Also, if you are stuck in the area where the major bands are, chances are that if you leave to go to another stage, you can't get back. I lost everyone midway through the Killers and had to be pulled out of the pit (I kinda didn't eat all day and the crowd was really getting to me). Plus I really wanted to see peaches but was stuck there watching eskimo joe (not that I don't like them, but they're not an eventful band, as peaches would've been). Plus I wouldn't pay $80+ just to go see peaches. Aw well, maybe in another lifetime. I didn't get to see much of tool, except for the guitarist. Maynard was way out back and the way the stage was set, if you directly in front of him, you couldn't see him. I'll just replay APC Maynard in my head.
My chemical romance: I still really like this band. They make me happy eventhough most of thier stuff is really dark. It was the shortest show ever. Mainly cause they started at 8:30 and Sarah and I didn't get there till 8:45 assuming the band would be on at 9! It was good though cause there were a million on one short girls and I could see perfectly! It was cool cause all day long I ran into people all dressed up for the MCR show. One girl had "Gerard is sex" painted on her legs. I was surprised it was still on there after the show cause I saw that at lunch time when I saw her at DFO.
Muse: Always amazing. I went with Grant to see one since Sarah opted to go to Tool that night. But the muse show is a prime example why people shouldn't show up for the opening band. I really have to know what they are called because I never want to be tortured like that again. But then muse came on and with one song, I had forgotten all about the crappy opening act. There were a lot more taller people at this one but moved to the sides I could see perfectly. I think the best part was when Matt said "this is the first song off our first album"! I love that song and I've seen them two times before this and don't remember hearing that one :)
Crystal Method: This was right after Muse. I met Sarah on the train and we went to a different suburb to see it. The venue was small and because it was a wenesday night, not many people were there. The show started and ended early but we got there just as they started so it was all good. It was a DJ set but of course they played some of thier songs in there too among some more rock infused techno music. That was a surprise and really awesome.
The Killers: We lined up for this one a bit early. Which wouldn't have really made a difference since they let people at our door in late. Nonetheless I still got rail and didn't get crushed which made it enjoyable :) But they didn't play "Andy You're a Star" so I kept refusing that the show is over because I heart that song. They actually had flowers on the stage and Sarah and I were debating whether they hired a guy just to do the arrangements on stage. I got an orange on at the end of the show.
Little Britain (live): We actually didn't end up going to that show because Phil got food poisoning and hadn't moved from bed in three days. One of his workmates that did go said it was exactly like the dvd minus a few skits. I had already see the dvd so I can imagine what it was like.
Evanesence: Last concert in Melbourne. There were all sorts of people there. And lots of kids. I had two cute little boys next to me, they could'n've been more than 12 or 13. Cute as in cute kids not as in hot lol. They were a bit shorter than me so that's how young they were :P Some tall guy moved out of the way half way through the set and the boys wanted to let me go in front of them! I thought that was adorable and I said they should take the stop. I could see from behind just as well. They were so exicted and thanked me after the show. The band played a lot of the new stuff which I didn't know execpt for the two songs that play on the radio/tv all the time. Note to Amy, do not say on stage "Wow I suck! And you guys bought tickets for this?". Really, you never say you suck unless you made an obvious mistake and laugh it off by saying that. At one point the band started playing the intro to Blind (by Korn). I looked over at Phil and was thinking "Hey, you might get to see korn at vodaphone arena after all!" But they stopped :( [re: phil passing out before seeing korn way back in some early month, possibly april?"]
The end.

20/20 finals were last night and victoria kicked some tasmania butt! i actually didn't think they'd win since didn't score too many runs and they were batting first. but their fielding was excellent and it payed off :) it was funny cause phil was really "boozed" (his word, not mine) and he went to get food. when he came back to the area he couldn't see us so zac called out his name and so everyone else behind us started yelling his name and stuff like "phil over here, come to me phil". he looked our way and i guess was thrown off by all these other people and didn't see u and started to walk the other way. we debated whether going to get him but instead watched him roam around a bit until he found us. and that's when everyone in our section started cheering cause phil found his seat. it was funny cause i think at that point in the game there was nothing going on and everyone started wondering what was going on in our section that we were cheering.
zac and i then went to unilodge to see how many people we could convince to go to bang with us. it ended up being me, zac, tod, vince, and shabir and we meet phil there. i did try to convice some girls i sorta knew to come but they had other plans. but it was nice. the downstairs room is terrible, audio-wise i had no clue what they're playing and if i did recognize a song, i couldn't hear it properly. but upstairs, the heavy-metal room, was a lot better :) i don't think shabir or vince liked the music and vince was trying to get us to go a strip club. that's what happened last time we went to bang. i ended up going to the bar next to the club while the boys went in. i said i'd go if it was a male one but the guys weren't up for that :P
the night before we went to debiers. it was a nice pub actually. like most places they played house till midnight then rnb till 2 and then back to house. suprisingly i enjoyed it a lot cause they played a lot of older rnb than i knew. and steph was a good sport she shook her ass for me :) and danced almost all night. also the mop guy there was very enthusaistic about his job and was dancing with his mop it was really adorable. and some of the security gaurds if you were around with would dance too. and the bar tender liked zac and barely charged him for stuff. he kept getting us free drinks and water. i think at one point he came back with 4 waters and two drinks and the guy only charged him $3! and out of nowhere german and his buddies show up. i didn't tell him we were going to be there. out of all the places in melbourne they go to this one. and neither of us had been there before. i guess melbourne is tiny too!
anyway, i'm toning down the going out bit. i need to finish my project. i've been so lazy. so so lazy. like really lazy. i think i did two papers all week. if u see my parents. don't tell them.

I went to my first cricket game today at the MCG (melbourne cricket grounds). It wasn't a full on whole day match. It was a 20/20 match so each team got 20 overs. So, it didn't last ages, only about 2.5 hours. My friend explained the rules as we were going there and I kept asking questions the first little bit but got the hang out if and started to enjoy the game. It was western australia vs. victoria. Victoria won! yay! I think I liked it because the team I was cheering for actually won and it was a nice one too :) So now Vic gets to play in the finals on Saturday. I think I'm going to watch that one on tv if its too hot out.
German and Zack came over today. Zack brought beer so the two drank lots and then decided we should go swimming in the pool on the 5th floor. I said I didn't want to swim but since they need access will go down with them. Long story short they ended up thowing me into the pool and my phone got ruined! oh poor sweet phone. Yet again I have lost all my contact numbers. I hate this, cause it always seems like an excuse "oh i lost your phone number" but seriously, I don't do it on purpose. Stuff just happens. Like my phone decides it no longer wants to work. The other one decided it only wanted to send text messages and this one got water in it so its wrecked. It's not even a year old, but I don't think the warranty covers getting water into it. Plus, it's all the way in Bahrain. By the time I get there, it'll be expired. *sigh* I have to stop hanging out with drunken boys. This also happened after I had already spent an hour straightening my hair. I'm so not doing it again tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
Finally handed in my paper today entitled "Identification of Mutations in PimE of Mycobacterium Smegmatis Class III variants". I know, not very creative. It took me ages to write it and if you let me, I'd probably re-write it again and again. It's about 5 pages longer than my rough draft. All in all, I'd say I'm happy with it. I'll probably go back in a couple months, read it, and kick myself, but oh well that is life. So probably tomorrow or the day after I'll start researching for my second paper. This one I think would be more challenging to write since a) I'm still not clear what it is I'm suppose to be doing b) I have limited time and c)I have a word limit (which can either go for or against me). I just hope it's good enough and I get into an honours degree or something.
So all you guys lined up around the corner to go out with me, now is your chance to impress me! :P
Just got back from Perth last night. I can't believe the fun-ness is over. The next stretch of fun doesn't come until late January with BDO and various other shows! Until then, I have to slave away at my computer and try to write stuff that make sense.
I'm so sad PJ is over, I didn't quite get to all the shows I planned. I missed Adeliade 1 and 2 because, as usual, I just HAD to get sick and lose so much money. Otherwise I wouldn't've been me, right? The best show that I went to on this tour HAS to be Brisbane 1! It's where I got my first front row, first Mike guitar pic, the crowd was awesome, and so was the set list :) Perth comes very very close, cause I got Ed's tamborine :) I don't think I slept well that night cause I was so excited! Sarah says it's cause he probably doesn't hasn't seen me before and I was rocking out BIG TIME, it was my last PJ show I was going to jump up and down almost all the way through even though I had a stupid cold and at some point thought I would pass out :P The last two days in Perth were pretty cool cause I got to meet other PJ fans and actually said a word or two (instead of just hi) and hung out in parks drinking. I wasn't drinking but they were so it was still fun :)
The two U2 shows, well, they were nothing compared to PJ. And you have to stand there for 5 hours before the show starts to get into the ellipse. We got on both nights, but I was in a better mood the second night (and not exhausted from throwing up the night before cause my stomach decided it didn't want to be friendly).
Oh also went to Sexpo with some guys from unilodge and some friends. It was quite entertaining and I was surprised how long we spent there. The gerbil didn't work so we couldn't "ride the gerbil" as advertised on their poster. I think Lauchlan was very dissapointed about that. They gave me a small vibrator as I walked in. It was a neon green one. I'll have to remember to throw it out before I pack my stuff. It would be hilarious if my brothers or one of my parents saw it, or even if they stopped me at the airport and asked what it was! I'd be so embarressed!
Speaking of sex, when I got back from the airport yestruday I was like a billion guys all watching tv, really glued to it. I had my bag so just said hi and went upstairs. However, when I came down again after I got dinner, I decided to see what it was. It sounded like a weird cartoon with even weirder music. So I looked at the screen and it took me a couple of seconds to realized its a huge naked girl going down on another one. The boys just laughed so hard cause they kept seeing me come and go and was wondering if I'd actually find out what they were watching!

and if anyway just happens to have an extra free AFI ticket for the 17th let me know. I'm broke as hell but am willing to give hugs and kisses :P
Oo and i went to crucified barbara a while ago. good show. drummer had red hair. dyed. so she's my fav ;) they're much heavier live and we were pretty close.
Went to gigantour too. was really mad cause the band i bought my tix (arch enemy) for i missed due to being stuck at school! i'll just watch live stuff on youtube instead. i ran into a guy a knew from last semester class but couldn't remember his name! so didn't introduce him to my friends. was surprised at how good soulfly was. lots of african style drumming in the background was quite entertaining. megadeth was awesome. i heart blonde guys with guitars. sometimes anyway ;)
Lauchlan was hammered last friday. i don't think i've ever seen him so drunk! the night included me meeting up with lauchlan and the germans after a fun time at ding dongs seeing a couple aussie bands, being pushed around in a trolly, marcus getting mad and leaving, stealing an asahi glass from bimbos, taking about tits and protein shakes, lauchlan jumping on a tabling at unilodge and breaking it causing him to slip and hurt his back. the rest of the weekend was spend studying or pretending to study.

"Your soul is priceless, don't exchange it for the pleasure of sin! Have you ever told a lie before, even a white lie? Have you ever stolen something, regardless of its value? Jesus said if you even look at a person with lust then you have committed adultery of the heart. Have you ever looked with lust? If you answered yes to any of these questions then when God judges you by that standard on the day of judgement He will find you guilty of sin -- breaking His moral law. To fulfill justice God must send you a guitly sinner to hell for all eternity. God in His love for you has made a way to save you from hell. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to live on earth and despite total innocence He was executed on a cross, taking your punishment upon Himself. Through the power of His perfect love He then defeated sin and death by rising from the grave three days later. Repent today -- confess your sins and turn from them recieving the free payment for your sins. Trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit to give you power to live without sin. Get a Bible, read it daily and obey what you read."

So on saturday, some friends and I were suppose to go to this place called NEXT because apparently it doesn't suck too bad. Luckily, this time it wasn't just me and Lauchlan :P The germans on our floor came too and Lauchlan's friend was visiting so we all went out together. Of course, if you have either me or Lauchlan in charge of directions, you are in trouble. Long story short, we stood in line at this place that looked cool and when we got in, I noticed there were flyers everywhere for Bang, not NEXT. So I told Lauchlan we were at Bang and he didn't believe me so he asked some random guy which confirmed my great powers of observation :) The place was actually good! Apparently we were at Panic! at the Disco's after party which would explain all the panic music in the main room ;) Upstairs they were playing metal (YAY, not the old stuff they play at BITD, they played Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Sepultura, and other stuff I can't recall, we didn't stay there long, the germans didn't like it). There was a third room called the "party room" which played retro and rnb stuff by DJ spandex sarah :) I just wanted to say spandex sarah. spandex. sarah. I think we were there for 2 hours or so before the boys decided they wanted to go to a strip club. and not the kind I would like ;) We first went to the "classy" one and they were charging $18 entry and decided not to go, so we walked other to the other place and they were charing $15. I don't know how that makes a big difference. Anyway, the boys went into that one. Luckily, Lauchlan's friend wanted to spend more money on drinking than girls so we went to pub next door. Trashy place really, so many losers there :P I think some guy was tried to hit on Lauchlan's friend, and we had spaztic guy ask me if he get more to drink, and some guy with teeth missing smiling and waving at me. The things I do. Around 3am I got tired and called the others to leave their lovely club. The guys were hungrey so we went walked to burger king, had terrible burger king food, and then walked home. I should say swayed home since Lauchlan kept slipping and walking funny. I am such a good friend. always sober, always on the lookout :)
yesturday i booked most my flights for my big fun filled month of november. of course, I wouldn't be me if i didn't screw up and had to change the bookings and pay extra because i can't read. its costing me WAY more than i thought it would. ticket prices weren't this high two weeks ago! oh well, i'll just eat less. food is not important anyway.
oh and right now, i'm pretending to write my paper. i've been pretending to write my paper for three days now. so far i have a really bad introduction which is too short and a methods section. lets see if i can get a semi draft done by this week. Oh and today i was told i have a midterm next tuesday. that can't go well since my tuesday class is at 8am, i can't focus THAT early in the day. Oh well. I'll figure something out.

Recap over last month: lots of bad stuff, followed by some good stuff, followed by some fun. In the following sections i will try to only focus on good stuff and fun. the other stuff should and will be forgotten. soon.
I went to the danzig show a while back. WOW. WOW. did i say WOW? It was so good. maybe cause i didn't expect it at all! I wanted to go b/c i was hoping they'd play misfit songs since doyle was touring with them as thier opening band. sadly i missed that b/c lauchlan, tod, and i were too busy eating 1 1/2 chicken + burger at nandos. we didnt' actually order THAT much food. lauchlan and i were going to share a chicken and tod got a burger. then some guy came up and gave us more new promotional chicken. so we ate that too. it was so much food and i thought i was going to fall asleep before the show started. back to danzig. they were pretty good they played most of their louder stuff and the crowd didn't try to kill me. well maybe it's cause i was well protected by my friends :) but yeah, half way through the set doyle came on stage and it all went into misfit mode and i was jumping everywhere cause it was so much fun. doyle is such an i-bot. must be his face paint that made him so attractive. i think for the next couple of days all i had on was misfits and danzig which also reminded me of tiger army which i re-dled and listened to for a while.
Last night i went to black label society. i mean ZAKK WYLDE with black label society cause really that's why anyone would go to the show. i got to go since one of lauchlan's friend from alice spring didn't show so i got his ticket. so there were four of us: me, lauchlan, phil, and alice springer cody. the show was pretty good too and lauchlan saved me from crazy people moshing and lifted me at intervals so i can see the stage. metal people are large and very tall. all was them! and i think there was a total of 20 girls at the entire show. Zakk is fricken crazy with that guitar! so darn fast! and of course plays behind his head and with his teeth. wtf! damn. that was amazing. i only knew two black label songs going in and they played both, yay :). Oh and after the show, everyone came over to hug phil. that was hilarious. just random people come up to him shake his hand and hug him. his only response was "why me!". the other funny part was before the show he was drinking at some pub before we got there. i guess he was bored or drunk or both but he kept calling lauchlan every 2 minutes till we got there. it was just funny.
Finally made it to bubble last weekend. nice. the line up was terrible, but it must've been cause lots of kids were on their school holidays. i think sarah and i (+10) got in around 2am and partyed till 5 or something. unlike the majority of the population there, i was not on drugs, so i get tired when its late! it seemed like there is a specific sort of dance you do at these things. looks like you're running in place. i would've tried it except i had heals on and they were hurting my feet since i was wearing em since 12. lots of people came out to that one. i felt like anywhere i went in the club i recognized someone. satya came too except it wasn't really his scene and he left early (by early i mean 3). he later said he just can't dance to that type of music (more of a hip-hop rnb guy). but we sort of made up for that some friends and i went to billboards on thursday. they have super cheap drinks like $1.50 beers and $3 shots. needless to say some of them got really hammered. i left early cause too much music i dont' like. they kept alterneated between dance stuff (yay) and rnb stuff(boo). i think they're going again this weekend. except i don't think i will. i'll try to be good this ramadan :) key word : try.

Agh so much pain. I was at the Arctic Monkey's show last night. The show itself was really good, and surprisingly the opening band (The Grates) were very entertaining, so I would like to see them again. Shows you how much noise you can make just with some drums and a guitar. But the key is to have a crazy enthusiatic singer that jumps around for 45 minutes. The Arctic Monkey's part was really good too, they played for about an hour and 15 mins and I had a good view :) The only bad thing was the lunatic girl beside who beat me up really bad. It hurt when she hit me but that much, it hurts so much more today. I had accidentally rolled over to my right side in my sleep and woke up from the sharp pain. There are no bruises, which is bad, cause if there were at least I'd know exactly where it hurts and avoid contact with that area. Hopefully The Strokes won't be that bad.
In other news, I finally found a place in the Microbiology Department, working with Dr. Helen Billman-Jacobe. I like her cause I've talked to her before and she's really nice. I believe I start PCR stuff next week.

"The final show of the summer tour is in Portland on August 11, at the Crystal Ballroom. Tickets go on sale Saturday July 8th at 10 am PST, cost is $12 per ticket.
After eleven years as a band, Sleater-Kinney have decided to go on indefinite hiatus. The upcoming summer shows will be our last. As of now, there are no plans for future tours or recordings.
We feel lucky to have had the support of many wonderful people over the years. We want to thank everyone who has worked with us, written kind words about us, performed with us, and inspired us.
But mostly we want to extend our gratitude to our amazing fans. You have been a part of our story from the beginning. We could not have made our music without your enthusiasm, passion, and loyalty. It is you who have made the entire journey worthwhile.
With love and thanks,
Sleater-Kinney"
I will now go cry myself to sleep. :(

Needless to say the Australia-Italy match yesturday did that. I wasn't really supporting either team but that was just unfair, Australia really deserved that one.
Another thing that makes me mad is this title: "Having Older Brothers Increases a Man's Odds of Being Gay". WTF? People are spending money on this crap? Seriously unless being gay definitely meant you were going to die of cancer or some serious other illness, I don't know why there is money and "scientific research" being put into this! Oh and the best part of the paper I think is way at the end when the paper states: "But one theory suggests that after delivering a boy, a woman's immune system produces antibodies to male-specific proteins. During subsequent pregnancies the mother's placenta may deliver the antibodies to the fetus, possibly affecting its development." Again, WTF? Let's blame the mothers for this. Oh and let's make gayness a result of improper development. And lets engineer cows that fly. At least what would be useful, less money spent on transporting meat.
The other thing I read somewhere today had to do with female sexual behavior is controlled by the ventromedial nucleus (it was either by it or at it, I can't remember). Anyway rats that had blocked signalling to some alpha receptor refused to have sex and attacked the males. Hmmm, anywone wanna place bets on which pharamceutical company will develop a female version of viagra?
Things that make me happy: upcoming concerts :) yay for snow patrol, yeah yeah yeahs, strokes, artic monkeys and pearl jam (but that one is far away).

The entire field of immunology should just dissappear. I want to wake up tomorrow and hear on the news that the subject formerly known as "immunology" is now banned in Australia because it stimulates heretic thoughts in the minds of potential biological terrorist through the activation of gamma inteferon and TNF-alpha simultaneously with IL2 and IL7.

I think last Saturday night was a quite interesting night and deserved a mention. I went out with the usual people plus some other UniLodgers. At first we went to 322 (I think) Russell Street. Apparently, some people had gone there the night before and they had played good music. When we got there, we found out they had a private function so instead we went to 112 (again, I think) Russell Street. They played mostly RnB/HipHop music that I recognized but was not in the mood for. I think we stayed there about 20-30mins before Matt suggested we leave, which we did. Bad thing about that was that some of the group actually liked the music and the other half didn't, but instead of just staying, they left with us and we ended up going to the place next to the green room which has escalators. I really like that place, they were playing techno music stuff that had lyrics (i.e. Dirty Vegas-Days go by, Infernal-Paris to Berlin, Deep Dish-Say Hello, Apollo440-Stop the Rock, Adam Freeland-We want your soul are some I remember). But they had tvs with the music videos so you always knew what song they were playing. The only problem was they didn't have an official dance floor, although there was plenty of space to dance. So we started one and some Papua New Guinea guys started dancing with us and giving our guys beer. Shortly after we took a break to sit, about 10 secuirty guards went up to the PNG table, talked to them and escorted them out! We were all curious about what they had done but continued to enjoy dancing. Long story short, a cat fight almost broke out but since there were a billion secuirty guards already there they just carried the girl out, and an Indian guy hit on Lauchlan before we decided we should walk home. On our way back we saw the PGN strolling the street so we changed streets to avoid them (one of the guys was hitting on Alex all night and she wasn't interested :P). With all the drinking going on that night, Lauchlan wanted to use the bathroom so we stopped at a backpacker's pub. It was so weird and smelly in there. I also recognized some security guards from the other place we were at. Funnily enough, as we were leaving the place we run into the PGN guys going in! Melbourne can be a small place at night. He said something about someone sharing thier beer and passing out so the security people thought they had put something in the drinks but they hadn't. I think by the time we got home it was around 3am or so, it was a long walk.
Yeah, the title says it all. Almost.
It's one of those HUGE plasma screen TVs.
I still don't exaclty understand how they did it.
I mean, wouldn't it look suspicious with two guys walking out with a huge plasma screen TV?
Someone must've let them in and then watched them take the TV and said nothing. I mean they must've been prepared with a van or something because you can't just walk around with it. Unilodge has it all on tape, but what are the chanced they'll catch the guys? Unless the lodger who let them in actually knew who they were.
But now we have NO tv. Not that I watch the TV regularly, but now that I know we don't have one, I want to watch TV.

I figure the past two days deserved a journal entry because they were for the most part fun-filled (my mind is blocking out the 10am-5pm where most of the studying occured).
On Friday there was a midnight sale for the new pearl jam album (yay pearl jam!). Of course I didn't know about it until Sarah told me. Some people from res knocked on my door before then and we decided to go to a pub in the city and then go to HMV. We were going to go to the green room (not the same as toronto one ;)) but it was some special night and had a $10 cover. So we went to this other place which looked pretty cool but was super empty even though they had a private function going on in one section. Lauchlin and Matthew chugged their drinks and stood in line with us (and Jane) for a while before they got bored and went to Transport. There was a draw after the sale and both Sarah and I won a single CD. I think odds were, if you bought the Pear Jam CD, almost had to win the single since there were so few. Everyone there was there for Tool. Afterward I met up with the crew and we walked all the way to the casino, which took quite a while and I was exhausted when I by the time we got there. We just walked around the place and decided to eat something. That's when I realized I lost $40 :(. The entire night I knew I was going to lose it too, I should've just given it to someone to keep for me. Luckily, I voted for cabbing a ride home cause I was dead but didn't fall asleep till 4:30. So much for getting up early on Saturday to study!
Saturday was a great day. We went to a pub on Flinders and had dinner which took about 1 hour to make (it might not have been the FULL hour but pretty close to it). The fries were good though, but I was also starving by then. Then Locky, Phil, and I walked over to Vodafone area to see the Korn/Distrubed/Hatebeed/10years show. When we got there, which I think was around 7:30 Hatbreed was already playing. I didn't care cause I didn't know them, and they were too hardcore for me anyway. So we stayed in the lobby where L and P continued thier drinking fest. They had three glasses of red wine each (it was either that or light beer). We went in when Disturbed went on. WE didn't even go to find our seat cause I'm sure they were really crappy anyway. We just stood on the stair well and got a good view. Disturbed were good except the PA system blew when they were singing Deify (which is my fave song off thier new album) and it just looked really funny with the guy singing and no actual heard vocals. The crowd filled in the chorus though and they didn't even re-do the song! During that P disappeared cause he said he wanted to jump over the fences and get into GA. He was sooooooooo drunk, and I mean really drunk and we didn't see him the rest of the night, eventhough we waited for about half an hour outside the venue after the show. After Distrubed, L and I wanted to go see how tight security was and see if we can get into the lower floors. Luckily, while we ran into Vias who is also a secuirty guard at the unilodge we live in. Turns out he was tending the front part of the GA and we asked if he could slip us in. He said if the other guy he was working with isn't around he'll let us in. So we went into the lower floors with no problem, no one asked to see tickets and there actually was space to sit! We pretended we had seats a couple rows up. After the first Korn song, the fat dude who was seriously anal about checking wrist bands and yelling to people to get back to their seats left his post for a couple seconds (If I had those seats I would've been grateful for him yelling at all those people to move, but I didn't:P). L and I seriously RAN from where we were and slipped into GA seriously close to the stage were the sound was so much better and the crowd was awesome. Also Lauchlan put me on his shoulders (with the help of some generous guys behind us) when Falling Away From Me was playing and I could see everything so clearly. It was a seriously awesome experience, being tall for a bit that is ;). Korn also had a pig dude and rabbit dude that played cool instruments. I just thought they must be really hot in those suits. They played a good set, mostly stuff I knew, except maybe one or two songs. Afterward L and I followed some wierd people from the show back to Flinder street and ate junk food before heading home.
Fast forward to today -- turns out we didn't see Phil anymore cause he ended up in the hospital! He was so drunk he doesn't remember much except he remembers seeing part of Disturbed. He thinks maybe he fell and hit his head trying to jump the second fence and just passed out. He woke up today in the hospital and called L afterwards from a football match. He was in good spirits too for a guy who just got out of the hospital after his stomach got pumped.
All in all, an adventurous weekend!

A personal ad seeking the perfect vaccine might read: "Must confer strong immunity, quickly, with a single dose and minimal side effects. Should offer lasting protection, preferably for a lifetime."
I think that would only work if vaccines actually call back. And if you're not there, leave a msg, indicating the strain and host of vaccine. So vaccine, if you're reading this, give me a call, you know my number.
